When we first got this assignment I thought it was a multicultural event. This is when I thought it would be the pereft chance to bring in illustrations of an Indian Elephant, which are some of my favorite images. I made the design and loved what I came out with, it was the first time I used the painting techniques in Photoshop, so I was also a bit proud of the outcome. It was also one of the first projects I’ve made since coming to Truman that I was proud of. Then I found out my concept was all wrong, it was a Native American heritage event and not a multicultural Indian event, so sadly I had to ditch my original Idea and come up with a new illustration for my promotional poster.

This project was a nice little project to put a break in between our spreads. We were given all the type and information that needed to be put onto the poster and then we had to come up with an idea for the look of the poster. So this was the first poster we made that was not a remake of something poorly designed, we were actually given the chance to design somthing that was basically from scratch. In a way this was more like what would happen in the real world for designers. We were given a subject and the information about what we are needing to design and the design asspects are up to us. I decided to illustrate a wolf that had shape, line, and elements to make up the inner workings of the wolf and also to have it look Native American in feel. I actually really liked how this turned out overall so I’m happy with this.
