After we finished making our 3D objects we were told to create a website that incorporate our objects in some fashion. I did not want to keep with the idea of just selling or advertising to geeks who like chess, because I thought that was a little too much. I know a lot of people made their video’s to showcase themselves as if they were a 3D printer, so that's when I thought I could just make my website as if I was a freelance artist and was displaying my work. So in this website I have three layers, the first is the home page which just shows my logo, who I am/what I do, and my contact information. The second layer is an about me page where I talk about who I am, my educational background, and what I can offer. Then the third page displays the services I can offer; in this case graphic design, 3D printing, and printmaking. With everything in this semester thus far I had to learn a new program. The last time I designed a website I used Adobe Muse, but I no longer own that app so I had to learn a new program to make a website. At first I was going to use Squarespace, but I didn’t have the money to buy a subscription so I looked at the other sites that our professor recommended for us. I already know I didn’t really care for wordpress so I wasn’t going to go with that and the other two programs he talked about was Wix and Pagecloud. I tried Wix first and really liked it especially because it was free, and then that is the site I’ve used ever since.

Another aspect of this project is that we needed to make a video spot for our 3D objects. I decided to target geeks, who play chess. Why geeks, because I wanted a better reason as to why I was using the Star Trek: The Original Series, theme song, and that’s what I came up with. I also think if you play chess you're a geek, even if it’s just a little, and that is awesome! This video was actually really hard for me which is funny because editing different scenes and stuff like that is something I do for a hobby, I wasn’t expecting to have any problems. Then can the use of the software. I had a free version of a screen recorder so that I could record myself playing a game of chess, but every other 10 seconds a text saying, this is your 7 day free trial would pop up on the screen. So I had to play around and cut out every other 10 seconds of my video. Then came the most frustrating thing my Windows Movie Maker 2.6 would crash like every minute. Now I don’t know if you know this but the movie maker that was used by Windows before 2012 was the BEST thing ever! Then in 2012 the movie maker had an update, which changed the whole program all together and now it COMPLETELY sucks! In my freshman year at college I got so angered by the new version of movie maker that I went and downloaded the original 2.6 version that I loved, in 2012 it was working fine on my laptop, but it seems now that it is just a bit too out of date for my computer to like it so it crashed a lot. So after an hour of grueling work with my 2.6 crashing every min I was able to get something out. I don’t like this video all that much because I wasn’t given the time I needed to make it look good do to some crashing.

The last thing we needed to do for this project was to make our websites be able to work for a phone platform. For me this we fairly simple because in Wix it has a button up in the corner that puts your design into a phone format for you. I just did that and tweaked it a little. Like I moved some of my elements around and changed the text size. I didn't like it not having a footer so I also added a footer to the website. Over all this took me 30 min to so so I wasn't that upset with it and I think it looks rather good. To view it just visit http://www.slavezzi223.wix.com/lavez-pro on your moble device and you will be able to see it!
